Blockbuster Employees Are Stupid
October 20, 2005 | Category: blog

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. I just called Blockbuster (Woodman location) because I wanted to know how much Monster-in-Law would be to rent. So I call and some girl answers and I say, “Do you have Monster-in-Law?” And she says, “Yes.” And so I ask, “How much is it?” But she says, “Mark is this you?” I’m confused, “Who?” Then she says, “Shut up! Mark you can’t fool anybody!” What an idiot… “This isn’t Mark, how much was Monster-in-Law?” So she says, “Hold on.” Beep beep. So I’m hold for a little bit. “Hello, it’s 21.95.” Oops, I wanted to rent it. “Oh no, I mean to rent it.” She replies, “4.60. Hold on.” Beep beep. Why am I on hold again? I don’t need anymore information…. so I hang up.
A similar situation happened but I was asking for a movie called Summer Lovers. Yeah it sounds like a soft core porno but it’s actually this movie with Darryl Hannah (I saw it on IFC). Basically I asked for the movie and the dude was like, “Is [girl's name] there?” And I’m like, “What?” He keeps repeating himself until I understand what he’s saying (the girl’s name was some weird African tribal Shaquita Mambo name).

dude seriously, the workers at blockbuster woodman are dumbasses. Me and bong went there to rent some movie. ANd no one was in the store. Then me and bong were waiting in front of the register and the stupid chick wasn’t doing anything. she was just on the other side messing with some videos. she just ignored us in shit until she finally went to us and acted like we were bothering her. dumb ass biyatch!
I used to work at Blockbuster. I hated it. I felt bad for the customers who ahd tp pay absurd prices and have crap sold to em all the time. I never forced things as far as selling, but sometimes, the employees have no choice. Blockbuster has secret shoppers and if they shop you and you don’t sell whatever you are supposed to be selling, you get fired. No second chances. Fortunately, I could spot secret shoppers like nothing else, and so I never sold anything to anyone but the SS. In addition, they were going to fire me because I returned a movie that hadn’t come out yet to the outside drop box, and it was rented out to someone. It was my fault. Of course, the person who checked it in and rented it out were not to blame. I caught wind of the situation, though, and I quit b4 they fired me. Worst job ive ever had. and yeah, we had idiots at my store like you mentioned. unfortunately, those are obnoxious teens who dont do any manual work but rather force things down peoples throats. i was the opposite. i did so much work, ARGGGGHH! i expected an easy job while i finished up my 2nd yr of college, but i was wrong.
