LOST is getting exciting again

February 21, 2006 | Category: blog

I didn’t get to post about last week’s episode of LOST because Lost-Media.com was hacked by some faggots who should go and make better use of their time by hacking Microsoft’s website or Internet Explorer. Anyway, I was ranting about how LOST was getting stale because of the character development storylines seem to be sidetracking from the really exciting elements. Mainly, the Others and the secrets of the island.

Sayid and DanielleDanielle shoots the Other with a bow and arrowSayid is gonna torture the Other but needs Lockes help

Last week’s episode, “One of Them,” introduces a new character and brings back an old one.  Sayid finds Danielle who is actually looking for him.  Turns out she’s captured an Other.  Sayid doesn’t know for sure so he’s gonna torture him and find out the truth (because that’s what he does).  Not even 5 mins. into the episode and LOST has me back as a fan.  Haha.

Sayid questioning the OtherJack and Locke arguingthe other looks evil and demented

But the only way Sayid is gonna get answers is if he gets him alone and using his “methods.”  So he needs Locke’s help.  So Locke changes the combination to the gun room real quick without Jack knowing.  This was an interesting aspect because now it seems as if Jack has a major fault, he is too caring.  He doesn’t like what Sayid is doing to the assumed Other.  Craziness ensues because Locke can’t press the button as the timer is going off, and Jack (being like me) doesn’t give a shit.  So Locke ends up opening the gun room and running to type in the numbers on the computer but…
the timer goes down to zerothe countdown after not pressing the buttonthe countdown resets

… that nigga’s too late.  Or so it seemed.  We catch a glimpse of 3 symbols on the countdown display before it resets back. What do they mean?  I can only make out the 2nd symbol - which is obviously a bird of some sort.  The first… looks like an arrow and the 3rd I was thinking a flame, not sure.  Perhaps it has to do with the sickness/disease that Desmond mentioned…

Sayid tells Charlie they have an OtherKates father was in army against SayidPicture of Kate from her father

So I think it is safe to assume that they have an Other in their midst… trapped in the gun room.  Most likely he will be let out mysteriously sometime in the future.  Sayid explains to Charlie that he knows he is an Other because he didn’t know the details of how he buried his wife - something he should/would never forget = thus he was lying.  But then he goes on to say how Jack would never understand him.  Dammit… now we are supposed to be beginning to hate Jack.  He was my voice of reason and the character to whom I felt most connected with.  Just for nostalgia or something, they threw in the fact that Sayid’s captivity was accompanied by none other than Kate’s (real) father.
