movie review: V for Vendetta

March 21, 2006 | Category: movies & DVDs

V for Vendetta Great movie, i must say. This movie easily gets an 8/10. Now you’re probably wondering not a 9 or 10, right? well, during the initial 10 minutes of the movie, the accents used and the quick-pace of their mouths made it difficult to understand what they were saying. the story begins with a scene of 16th century-ish times in spain i believe, (determined by the soldiers outfits…) explaining the story of a ‘guy fox’ i think that’s the name. then it speeds on towards to 2035 i believe in england. that’s all i’m gonna say story wise.
the story is highly enthralling if you can get passed the bombardment of v words ‘V’ throws at natalie portmans character, ‘ivey’, it gets a little redundant and you can tell this speech is just that a speech he tells individuals upon first meeting them. afterwards, he talks like a normal englishman. what i found interesting is how ‘french’ the character looked to me. I mean i thought his whole persona is french-like. the tone of the movie moved fluidly and the cinematography, excellently placed. I recommend anyone to watch this. remember now, don’t take it too politically and you’ll enjoy it.

sorry i spelled his name wrong, it wasn’t like his name was printed anywhere and i knew it was in england, it’s just that the soldiers outfits looked like spanish a conquistador, mainly the hat…

The name of the man is Guy Fawkes, the soldier don’t use hat they use helmets, but you are rigth they look like spanish soldiers not English, I am not from USA so i don’t understand Why do you think He is a frenchman, but perhaps you can explain it to me? I am from México and I live in México, you are not a minute man or something like that. Do you?

Dammit Joe how can you mix up an Englishman with a Frenchman and Spanish conquistadors? TOTALLY DIFFERENT! :)

LOL. I think Chrees is taking the review a bit too personally or is on his/her period.

As for the movie, I liked it. Thought that the dialouges was great; something about that British charm (and yes, I know Natalie Portman is not British). Something I was hoping to happen was to see V’s face underneath that mask but I guess you can imagine what his face looks like during that flashback. Anyways, good movie. Thumbs up.

yep, i second that motion…..the movie was pretty tight. Natalie Portman was hot……even when she was shaved…….okay, maybe not…….i dunno tho, the movie got a little weird at times……and the first ten minutes were kinda wack.

um, the “redundant” V speech at teh beginning isnt “redundant” at all. it all makes perfect sense if you actually comprehend the vocabulary.

watched V for Vendetta recently, eye-candy effects, amazing how much character they developed into a mask, astoundingly honest.
