LOST: The Whole Truth
March 23, 2006 | Category: blog
Episode summary from Wikicities (it wasn’t updated for this episode the last time I checked):
Sun believes that she may be pregnant, and becomes determined to discover the truth. Ana-Lucia speaks with Henry inside the hatch and recieves a map leading to his alleged balloon.
This weeks episode focused on Sun & Jin. We see from their early flashbacks that they had been trying to get pregnant and that Jin wants to have a baby (for the wrong reason - so that maybe he can have a safer job if Sun’s father has a grandchild). We also get a brief tease of Sun’s cleavage (and Jin I guess for the female fans).
Back on the island, Sun is feeling the symptoms of perhaps pregnancy. Rose argues with Bernard about how he forgot her birthday, “I don’t even know what today is on this island!” Bernard explains. “It’s Saturday.” Rose answers. Damn… she told him. Meanwhile, in the hatch Locke does a Brokeback Mountain and attempts to shave while Jack is in the shower. Surprised, Jack questions Locke and Locke replies with, “There’s no shaving cream, and the steam opens up the pores.” So if you ever wanted to explain peeking in on someone taking a shower… just bust out a razor and give the ol’ no shaving cream excuse. Then back in Sun’s flashbacks we are sort of led to believe that she is having an affair with her old friend (the dude her parents set her up with on a date) - who is the one who taught her how to speak English.
Ana-Lucia manages to get Henry to draw her a map of where his alleged balloon is. You know if the whole gang is suspicious of Henry being an Other, why would drawing a map to a balloon help his cause? Obviously the Others know the damn island… so he could have found a balloon and just drew a map to it. Anyway… so along the way we find out she has self-esteem issues because nobody has ever liked her and it’s more of the same on this island as well.
Sun turns out to be pregnant… but that’s impossible… well, we learn from the Doctor (in her flashback) that he lied to Sun & Jin at their meeting. The Doctor told them that Sun is not capable of having babies. The only reason he told them that is because he was scared of Jin since he worked for her father (who is a baaaaad man). It turns out that Jin is the one who is… not capable. Her final ‘lesson’ with her English speaking buddy turns a bit heated as it seems to viewers that she ended up cheating on Jin. However, on the island, Sun promises Jin that she remained faithful… to which Jin says, “Then it’s a miracle.”
Jack let’s Henry out of the hatch (whilst Ana-Lucia, Charlie, and Sayid are on their field trip to his balloon) so that he can have some cereal with Locke and him. What a nice Doctor. We get a very interesting look from Henry when he catches a glimpse of the computer. What is more interesting is all the questions that Henry asks… which sound like questions someone ‘normal’ would ask. He even states this obvious fact. He asks where all the food came from, what’s the computer for, etc. Then he mentions how they all have ‘trust issues’… to which he tells them something disturbing.

Eerily he explains how if he was an Other, the map he drew to Ana-Lucia would have been a trap… and they would be captured and used to exchange for himself. Jack and Locke are petrified when hearing of this possiblity because they didn’t even know that he had drawn a map for Ana-Lucia, strengthing Henry’s claim of their “bickering and trust issues.” In the preview for next weeks episode, Charlie & Ana-Lucia find the balloon, the hatch goes all Chuck Norris and Locke appears to be trapped inside while it appears that Henry escapes the hatch the same way Kate did when she was tied up.
