Movies that I’ve caught up with recently…

aeon fluxwhen a stranger callsda vinci codethe islandderailed

  • Aeon Flux - The trailer revealed the coolest part of this film - where those marbles come to her and blow up the wall. My opinion anyhow.
  • When A Stranger Calls - I only wish Camilla Belle took a shower during the movie :) The ending was disappointing.
  • Da Vinci Code - Ian McKellen’s dialogue with the religion aspects went a little too quick for my brain to digest - but being someone in doubt about religion - the movie was entertaining, although Tom Hanks’ mullet do kept distracting me from the cutie pie that is Audrey Tatou.
  • The Island - Scarlett Johansson is too pretty to be an action star. It should have been rated R.
  • Derailed - Loved it because it kept me on my toes. Jennifer Anniston’s character felt awfully similar to her character in The Good Girl, dunno if that was a good or bad thing… I think there should be an alternate ending though as a bonus.

staythe weather manhigh school musicalthe break up

  • Stay - Dumb dumb dumb.
  • Weather Man - All I can say about this movie was WTF and cameltoe. Oh, and that one hoe had some HUGE ass titays (NSFW).
  • High School Musical - Although I already saw it on the Disney Channel, I got the Encore Edition just for kicks. The lead male character (the popular basketball captain) looks too gay for his part. I think it’s weird how Disney Channel movies reinforcing common stereotypes (nerds, popular kids, jocks, etc.) but then show commercials with their actors/actresses emphasizing kids to be unique and original (maybe that’s where being emo came from). Boo.
  • The Break-Up - Vince Vaughn was a lot funnier in The Wedding Crashers and Jennifer Aniston isn’t sexy enough in this movie. WTF with the ending too…

four brothersthe jacket16 blockshistory of violencerunning scared

  • Four Brothers - I thought this was just gonna be a ‘nigga this, nigga that - blam blam blam’ movie but then the story really started to shape up as the film progressed. I liked it.
  • The Jacket - I hate Adrien Brody but the plot made me stay through till the end. Keira Knightley is NOT hot (NSFW), and neither is Adrien Brody. Wake up people.
  • 16 Blocks - Mos Def needs to talk normal so I can understand wtf he’s talking about. Subtitles should be on by default just because of him. Wasn’t too thrilled with the movie - I was just waiting for one of them to die already. Nice that the DVD has an alternate ending too.
  • A History of Violence - Movie paced too damn slow but when Viggo Mortensen pumps that shotgun he is a real bitch. Mario Bello in a cheerleader outfit (NSFW) in that role-playing scene was…
  • Running Scared - Blockbuster employees told me the movie was really good and that I had to watch the movie till the end. I stopped watching maybe 20 minutes in - too boring. *Update Monday, June 26, 2006 12:28 PM: Finally finished the movie. It was okay. Nobody watches Paul Walker’s movies for Paul Walker, they watch them for the cars or the girls (Fast and the Furious/Into the Blue)
