pizza hut logoOn the topic of weird customer service (see previous AOL post), I just called Pizza Hut to order 2 medium pizzas (I had a coupon) and the Mexican lady (after she put me on hold) went through this verification process:

Would you like to order your 2 large pizzas again?

What 2 large pizzas? This is my first time calling today.

The last time you ordered 2 large pizzas, 1 ham, 1 pepperoni. Would you like to order that again?

Ummm, no. I wanted to order something different.

So you want to cancel your order?

I didn’t order that. Wait, hold on one second. (I then ask my family if they ordered anything from Pizza Hut just now - to which they reply No.) Hello?

Yes.

Okay, I didn’t want that order. I want to make a new order.

Okay. So we are going to cancel your order.

I don’t know about that order but I have this coupon where I can buy 1 medium pizza and get a 2nd medium pizza for free.

Yes. Okay, I’m checking the computer (laughs) and there is no coupon for that.

It’s from Entertainment Values.

Okay. For 2 large pizzas?

No, it’s a coupon for 2 medium pizzas - buy 1 get 1 free.

Okay. Delivery or pick-up?

Delivery.

And your crust?

Huh?

What kind of crust do you want on your pizzas?

Oh, umm, pan.

What toppings?

Pepperoni.

And for the second pizza?

The same, pepperoni.

Pepperoni on the second pizza?

Yeah, I want them to both be pepperoni.

Your total is $13.98. It’s going to take about………

At this point I stopped listening and was looking for cash. I don’t know, I thought it was weird. I don’t ever remember them doing their little name and address check, along with keeping track of the last thing you ordered and offering it to you again. How weird.
