Lost Season 3 Episode 4 Every Man For Himself review
October 25, 2006 | Category: blog
Sawyer-centric episode:
- Desmond asks Claire to fix her roof, Charlie says he can fix it (but they don’t see anything wrong).
- Jack questions the hierarchy of the Others when speaking to Juliet.
- Jack said Juliet takes orders from Benjamin. She said that’s not the way it works (utopia’s don’t exist honey).
- Jack points out that Benjamin was quick to let her die when Jack held her hostage.
- Benjamin butts in (to announce about Colleen’s injury - the Other that Sun shot).
- Sawyer sets up a trap outside his cage for the Others - but Benjamin doesn’t fall for it (he is observing the cages, after all).
- Sawyer gets injected with a needle.
- The “New Guy” is introduced as uncaring & an asshole.
- Sawyer learns the Others put a pacemaker into him.
- Sawyer’s heart beat rises when Kate changes into new clothes.
- Sawyer learns he has a daughter.
- Juliet needs Jack’s help - they turn on alarms and cover his head with a rag so that as he passes by the cages with Kate & Sawyer inside, Jack cannot hear/see them.
- Jack notices an x-ray of someones spinal cord.
- Jack tries to help Juliet stop Colleen from bleeding, but Colleen dies.
- Juliet sucked.
- Pickett (Colleen’s man) cries and goes on a rampage, kicking Sawyer’s ass.
- Kate says she loves Sawyer (but later admits it was only to stop Pickett).
- Sawyer befriends an inmate who eventually reveals to him where the $10 mil. he stole is located.
- Kate escapes from her cage, but doesn’t want to leave Sawyer.
- Sawyer tells her, “Every man for himself.”
- Kate says she knows something is wrong with him because he is lying (he can’t tell her about the pacemaker).
- So Kate climbs back into her cage, muttering, “Live together, die alone.”
- Benjamin & Zeke observe the chemistry between Kate & Sawyer.
- Jack tells Juliet that he knows he was brought in to save somebody (he tells her about the x-rays he saw), but who?
- Desmond builds a sort of flagpole with a golf club at the top. Hurley walks off but Desmond tells him to stay, “You might want to see this.”
- Lightning strikes the golf club (which, if it wasn’t there, would have probably struck Claire’s roof instead).
- Sawyer rats out his inmate for his own freedom.
- He also designates $ to be sent to his daughter.
- Benjamin wakes him in the middle of the night and they go hiking.
- Benjamin reveals to Sawyer that there is no pacemaker inside him.
- He also informs Sawyer there is no where to escape to - the island is about twice as large as the prison Alcatraz (and there is more than 1 island).
Next weeks episode, “The Cost Of Living”:
Predictions from Xenocidal of The Fuselage Forums:
- Trip to pearl includes Locke, Eko, Charlie, Hurley, Desmond, Nikki, and Sayid. (why is this “New Girl” cool enough to be going on trips with them now?)
- Sayid has one of the banks of monitors pulled out, and the footage of the man with the eye-patch appears to be old footage from the Swan station. First part shown has the cart used to hold up the blast-door in fake lock-down in it, all bent up and out of shape.
- My guess would be this is Radzinsky, seeing as the glass-eye was found with the cut from the Orientation Film, and he did make the edits. At the end of the footage shown his hand is coming up to grab the camera, so it looks like he didn’t like being watched and hes to blame for their only being 1 camera working at the time of “?”.
- Eko taking a flying ax to the head is thrown by what looks like Eko all burnt and bloody, so here we go with another dream sequence injury! Makes me think Eko isn’t going to die, but he does seem to be going a bit crazy by the attack on Locke.
