Playstation 3 Worth Nearly $100 Million on Ebay

With all this news going around about the Playstation 3, I’m surprised nothing was mentioned about it here so I thought I’d start a post about some news that you might not have seen.
To start off, I’ve noticed Ebay sellers are making crazy money by selling their PS3s. One guy even sold his PS3 for $99,999,999.00!! Honestly, I don’t know if this is real or some friend pushing the bid up that high but it’s a real auction on Ebay.

Whether or not someone actually did pay that much for it, a PS3 on ebay is still worth about $7,000 like in this auction here that was worth $7,100. I’m sure you guys must’ve seen higher but that was the highest that I happened to have seen at last minute of the bidding.
Besides the prices of PS3’s on ebay, most of the news come from the long waiting lines all around the world for this system. I’ll give you a basic story of it and lead you to the links if you wanna actually read them.
Some jackass smashes a PS3 in front of a long waiting line basically to taunt everyone. What sucks the most is to be the first guy in that line that doesn’t get one..
A thousand people waited in line in front of Metreon (a big Sony store in downtown SF) causing nearly a few fights and many SFPD cops had to control the crowd. Source
Three guys walked out of the waiting line of a Circuit City to go in a Target (I’m assuming cause they were getting bored of waiting so they decided to go somewhere to kill time) and got jacked by two dudes at gunpoint. Source
A 24hr Walmart was closed because of a frenzy that was caused by people trying to find a waiting line for the PS3. Source

This one guy paid 50 homeless people $100 a day each to wait in line for him! Why? To sell the system on ebay of course! It’s a shame this system is based around ebay instead of its intended playing purpose.. People should be ashamed of themselves (even though I’d probably be one of those guys if I had the patience to wait or the money to pay for bums)..
What really sucks for that guy who hired homeless people is that ebay now has a new policy for selling PS3s (only applies to US and UK). You aren’t allowed to sell PS3s until February 2007! Even when it is February, you are only allowed to sell one PS3 that has been purchased in the EU. (Damn that dude got owned..) For the complete rules, check out the Source.
I seen/read way to many PS3 news so I really can’t remember where I got it all from but those were the ones that I was able to find and were the most interesting. If you happen to own a PS3 right now, enjoy it cause it is currently worth thousands if not millions!

that ps3 is pretty damn sturdy.
Well the PS3 restrictions were only for the selling of the pre-orders. Honestly, i wanted to buy a couple and sell them on eBay, but no way in hell i was gonna spend a cold night in Chicago sleeping outside with a bunch of strange dudes around me. I’ll buy the PS3 eventually, but until then I’ll just continue to kick ass in Madden for my PS2.
Are those the same guys who smashed all the other highly anticipated gaming systems on their release days?
apart from the money the first systems to roll off the shelves are always the worst to buy so its best to wait and let the impatient ones find the bugs for us. i was playing one at walmart a week ago and the damn thing crashed on me after 2 minutes of play…the reset button wouldnt even work. like hell id pay 600+ for that
