The Invincible Iron Man Animated Movie
January 29, 2007 | Category: celebrity, movies & DVDs
I anticipated this Iron Man movie to be be good since the 2 Ultimate Avenger animated movies that were released before it were pretty good.
Far from what I expected… Not sure if it was the whole Iron Man factor - he’s not the most popular hero (I mean, he doesn’t have any powers, and he doesn’t have that cool factor like Batman).
Being positive, Mandarin’s elementals looked cool - blend of 2D and 3D animation, but the fight scenes were dumbed down and lame. Seeing this movie doesn’t hype up the upcoming live action version one bit.
Robert Downing Jr. is going to be playing Iron Man, Terrence Howard as Jim “Rhodey” Rhodes, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia “Pepper” Potts. The film is slated to hit theaters May 2, 2008. (source) Here’s hoping it doesn’t end up being another Punisher or Ghost Rider (you know Ghost Rider is gonna suck).
The lone bright spot of this DVD has nothing to do with Iron Man but of another movie coming out, Dr. Strange. There’s a sneak preview of the animated movie of Dr. Strange due out this August in the special features menu. I’m not really familiar with Dr. Strange’s character… but the movie is, just like Iron Man, an origin story.
Here is the trailer for the Iron Man animated movie:
