I Am Legend

Motherfucking turning point in the film right heres…

(spoiler obviously)

I liked this movie aaaaaalot, but felt the ending was rushed. Will Smith is $$$. Except for maybe Legend of Bagger Vance and Wild Wild West since I’ve never seen those 2 movies.(DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE)

I’ve edited this part like 3x:

Initially I thought the Infected Male set the trap in the video above. The movie gives us some evidence to that in the rage the Infected Male displays when Will Smith sets the trap for his girlfriend(lols). Smith notes it in his video journal as a behavioral note in social devolution… something about losing his basic instincts. But then we can assume Fred was moved from his original location of the DVD store to steps within a puddle with a trap by the Infected Male.

This was one of the freakiest parts in the movie because when he is driving (even Sam) is led to believe Fred was moving (or moved). But I think that was just showcasing a mental lapse in Will Smith’s character. It doesn’t seem like Will Smith would forget that he placed Fred there AND his trap.

Besides, the Infected Male also has his own pets and leads a charge against Will Smith’s home. This banter is probably unnecessary since they make the God reference so obvious throughout the film, so why not the same with the Infected Male setting the trap, right?

But fucking Sam… why… :(

We just found out 1 of my dogs has a tumor in his lungs and won’t be with us for very long (the doctor gave him steroids to ease the pain but we don’t want him to suffer…) So that scene was tough and hit home.

I wanted to read the novel that the movie is based on but according to Wikipedia to only similarities is the main character and his struggle for survival.

All of that God referencing was pretty annoying… apparently the survivors colony in Vermont doesn’t believe in God or else they would have turned on the radio too? I forget the specifics about the radio when Anna was mentioning it to Will Smith.

Again, the movie was great… I liked it, if you haven’t seen it yet, I’d watch it in theaters or if you can get it off bittorrent. But I felt that the end was rushed. The Male Infected’s revenge trip after Will Smith captures his girlfriend reminded me of the Land of the Dead and 28 Days Later - 2 other awesome zombie(?) movies.

I may be answering this question in the question itself, but what is the difference between spot lights (the ones he used as his home defense), headlights from his SUV, and the lights from his rifle scope gun? Because it seemed like the light from his gun would not have done any harm to the Infected?

    1) He had definitely set that trap himself before…

    2) The lights made no sense…only certain lighting hurt them? And, combining this with the technical science base…what?

    3) Those zombies would be bad CG for an XBOX360…

    4) The god references were ridiculous…

it’s there just a known difference between regular .. like flash light bulbs and UV lights? i mean people don’t grow pot with regular lights.

i don’t know.. i’m not an expert on lights but i’m guessing that’d be it.

    haha.

I don’t know…I never thought about Will Smith moving “Fred” and setting the trap himself, and just forgetting about it. I thought the Infected Male set the trap and that he was kinda evolving and/or getting smarter (even though he was infected). Reason being is that why would Will set the trap and not use the “bag method” like he did for the infected female?

And yeah, it did seem like Fred moved or was moving at 1st.

I thought the movie was really good, but the wife felt it was too slow and over done with the infected peeps.

My feeling with the lights (no scientific evidence) was that the light on the gun scope was just for seeing and that he covered it up when searching for the dog because he didn’t the infected to see it. I think some of the other lights were of the UV or HID type which caused the burning sensation like the UV rays of the sun. And the fact that the infected may have been just scared of any type of light for fear of the UV factor…

    Am I whacked out here???

Lots of missing stuff from the book in the movie. If you plan on reading the book I don’t want to spoil much, but the “darksiders” are inteligent and started a society years after the outbreak (the inteligent ones were halfbreeds). Their thinking in the book of Neville was that he was the freak…

In the movie the trap was actually set by that one darksider cause the subject that neville capture was his wife/gf or whatever…so he had a reason to chase neville. Anyway…the mood in the book was depressing and it goes through the progression of Neville losing his mind & health. Don’t get me wrong I liked the movie, just wish it would be as dark as the book….
